Danbury Hospital
High-performance coating restoration of a 9-story hospital tower — including power washing, surface preparation, industrial coating application from swing staging, caulking and joint sealant installation, and stucco element repair.
Progress of the coating application visible left to right across the façade — cleaned, primed, and painted sections demonstrate the dramatic transformation achieved from suspended swing staging.

Reconditioning a Hospital Tower
Along with a new $150 million expansion project at Danbury Hospital, the owners wanted to recondition the original 1977 nine-story tower. Cenaxo was selected for the application of a high-performance coating system to the tower's exterior metal surfaces, transforming the appearance of the building while providing long-lasting protection.
A detailed plan was needed to coordinate the work from suspended swing staging, which included power washing the entire building, thorough surface preparation, and multi-stage coating applications. In addition, Cenaxo installed caulking and joint sealants and restored stucco elements on the tower.
The project required careful odor management because the hospital has a sophisticated air circulation system that must operate around the clock. By working closely with hospital engineers, Cenaxo developed a coating application strategy that allowed materials to be applied while hospital operations continued without disruption.
Project Scope
- Complete power washing of the 9-story tower exterior
- Surface preparation of all exterior metal panel surfaces
- High-performance coating application from swing staging
- Caulking and joint sealant installation throughout
- Stucco element restoration on the tower
- Window protection during coating operations
- Odor management coordination with hospital engineers
24/7 Hospital Operations
Working on an active hospital required exceptional coordination. Cenaxo developed a detailed plan to manage paint odors around the facility's sophisticated air circulation system, which must operate continuously. By working closely with hospital engineers, the team applied all coatings without any disruption to patient care or hospital operations.
