Our Mission

A Career Built in the Field

Michael Gnazzo brings over 35 years of expertise in historic masonry restoration, combining deep technical knowledge with systems thinking, business acumen, and hands-on project management capability.

Gnazzo started in the field learning restoration and preservation techniques before becoming a trained stone carver. He advanced through supervisory and management roles, eventually serving as general manager at an established historic restoration contractor before founding Cenaxo in 2010.

As project manager, he has overseen major restorations including the State Capitol building in Augusta, Maine; Fort Jefferson for the National Park Service, 70 miles offshore of Key West; Travelers Tower; Trinity College; and Sheffield Island Lighthouse.

"Our clients are always in the forefront at Cenaxo. As the most important aspect of any project, we work hard to understand and meet our clients' needs."

— Michael Gnazzo, President

Since founding the company, Gnazzo has developed quality assurance processes ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local historic preservation guidelines. He has also implemented Lean business philosophy company-wide, yielding significant productivity and profitability gains.
