Project Overview

Restoring a Campus Landmark

The Elton/Jones Dormitory is part of the historic Trinity College campus in Hartford, Connecticut. The brick building was in need of significant façade restoration due to failing mortar joints, deteriorating masonry, and compromised structural connections that had developed over decades of exposure.

Cenaxo was selected as the prime contractor to perform a complete masonry restoration of the building's exterior. The scope of work included full masonry repointing, selective brick replacement and rebuilding, installation of Cintec® anchors for structural stabilization, and comprehensive joint sealant replacement throughout the façade.

Our team of skilled masons worked methodically around the occupied dormitory, coordinating closely with the college to minimize disruption to students and staff. The project was completed on schedule and within budget, preserving the building's historic character while ensuring its structural integrity for future generations of Trinity students.
